All Tomorrow’s Parties

Artist Statement: All Tomorrow’s Parties

Our lives can't just be work, eat, and sleep. People are social creatures, and we go out of our way to create situations that we can escape to- costume parties, themed dinners, festivals, and summer weekend getaways. All Tomorrow's Parties is intended to be an exploration of the ranges of feelings, thoughts, and situations at play when we escape our daily lives within the social realm.

Sometimes, we feel infinite.
Sometimes, the night gets out of control.
Sometimes, we make a mess.
Most of the time, there are no consequences.

These works were created pre-COVID 19 pandemic. Now, in our post pandemic reality, the images seem relevant in a different way. We were from our typical lives and were not been able to physically socialize in away that resembles normalcy.

And what costume shall the poor girl wear
To all tomorrow's parties
A hand-me-down dress from who knows where
To all tomorrow's parties
And where will she go, and what shall she do
When midnight comes around
She'll turn once more to Sunday's clown and cry behind the door
